Practice Population and Patient Numbers
The number of patients registered at the Swan Surgery is continually growing.
Approximately 30% of our patients live in the villages surrounding Bury St Edmunds and require dispensing services at the surgery.
Around 6% of our patients are over 75, and of this group, 25% are living in a local nursing or residential home.
As from October 2012 We have been given 'Outer Boundary' status. This means that we are now able to accept patients who may not live but work in our catchment area. These are patients from Sudbury, Stowmarket, Haverhill and Newmarket. If you live in any of these areas and wish to register at the Practice, please be aware that Home Visits or dispensed medication will not be available.
The surgery provides a local service for Suffolk PCT (Primary Care Trust) to look after temporary patients staying at Davers Court in Bury St Edmunds following treatment in secondary care, such as on discharge from hospital.
